Tour Leader, Anne Martin, this year leads her annual tour to the South East of China and, after the bright lights of Hong Kong, gets off the beaten track to discover the very essence and culture of the local people.
 
The tour includes a range of sightseeing including major cities with many several excursions including different local restaurants to sample the varying cuisine.

1 April   London – Hong Kong
Depart Heathrow on scheduled services of Lufthansa at 17.10 hours, arrive Munich at 20.00, depart at 21.50, arrive Hong Kong the next day.

2 April   Hong Kong D
14.50 hours arrive in Hong Kong where you will be met and transferred to your hotel
Accommodation: a 4 star hotel in Kowloon

3 April Hong Kong BLD
Victoria Peak by tram. Lunch atop the Peak. Afternoon visit the Aberdeen Fishing Village, Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay and the Stanley Market

4 April  Hong Kong / Macao / Hong Kong BL
Day trip to Macao by hovercraft visiting the Ruin's of St.Paul, Penha Hill, Barrier Gate, Kum Iam Temple and Casino.

5 April  Hong Kong / Hangzhou BD
Morning at leisure in Hong Kong. Afternoon flight to Hangzhou (2.15 hrs). Meet and transfer to hotel.

Cruise on West Lake, Lingyin Monastery, Tea Plantation, Hu Xueyan's Former Residence, Old Pharmacy and Old Market Streets.

7 April  Hangzhou / Shaoxing / Hangzhou BLD
Day trip to Shaoxing (1 hr). Tour East Lake by rowboat and visit Lanting (Orchard Pavilion). Lunch with famous local rice wine. Rickshaw tour in the old town. Afternoon return to Hangzhou.

8 April  Hangzhou / Huangshan  BLD
Morning bus to Huangshan (3.5 hrs). Up Huangshan by cable car and stay at the top. Afternoon tour in the mountain.

9 April  Huangshan BLD
Full day tour in the mountain. Late afternoon down the mountain by cable car. Transfer to Huangshan city (formerly called Tunxi).
Accommodation: Huangshan International Hotel (4 star) or similar

10 April Huangshan / Xiamen BLD
Full day visit Xidi and Hongcun Villages and the Old Street of Tunxi. Night Flight MF8532 to Xiamen (2150/2255). Transfer to hotel.

11 April   Xiamen/ Tulou BLD
Morning bus to Tulou (3 hrs). Visit villages with clusters of Tulou.

12 April  Tulou / Xiamen BLD
Visit clusters of Tulou at Tianluogou Village. Afternoon bus back to Xiamen

Anne Martin
Anne speaks fluent Mandarin and has led tours to many areas of China for over twenty years. 
Anne Martin is the first SSAT Lead Practitioner for Chinese and currently is Head of Chinese at Trinity School in Croydon where she set up the Chinese department six years ago. She now has over 100 students studying Chinese from year 7 to year 11 on timetable to GCSE. Previously she taught Chinese at Ashcombe School for five years and in local primary schools.
Anne has established a link with a school in Beijing and organised two student exchanges as well as with one school in Shanghai nd led students on summer camp activities in China.
She has also taught Chinese to business clients and in adult evening classes.

NB. Programme details may vary according to local circumstances. The tour will often be strenuous, but participants are entirely free to take time out to follow their inclinations during the tour. The programme is based on a minimum of 10 persons.

Passports & Visas
A valid UK 10 year passport is required for entry into China with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of departure from China. A visa is required which we will obtain for you.

Health
At the time of writing no vaccinations are compulsory. Typhoid, tetanus, polio, malaria and hepatitis A and B precautions are all advised.

You should contact your Doctor well ahead of your departure who will be able to give you professional advice and arrange any vaccinations and advice on Malaria protection.

If you require any particular medicine be sure to take an ample supply as you may not always be able to obtain your requirements locally.

Local costs are based on £1 = CNY 11.34 as published in the Financial Times on 13 August 2009 and airfares at 13 August 2009.
